MongolSpace is one of the projects of the Czech-Mongolian Friendship and Cooperation Society, opening the gateway to the fascinating world of Mongolian nomads. Our collection comprises approximately 300 artefacts, which are part of the Mongolian section of the Little Asian Museum of Dr. Šíma, who is a renowned Mongolist, diplomat, and collector. Throughout his life, he gathered valuable items not only from Mongolia but also from China, Korea, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan.
Our mission is to preserve, digitize, and present this unique cultural heritage to the general public. We believe that history comes to life through the stories hidden in objects of everyday life.
Visitors have the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of Mongolian nomads through traditional clothing, hunting tools, equestrian equipment, and ceremonial and religious objects. The exhibition also includes typical toys, musical instruments, board games, and furnishings of a traditional yurt, from furniture to kitchen utensils. Each artefact in our collection tells a story of craftsmanship, traditions, and a way of life that has shaped itself over centuries in the heart of Asia.
Discover the beauty and depth of Mongolian culture. MongolSpace is a place where the past meets the present, and tradition merges with modern technology.
An integral part of our project is the creation of a functional and secure repository, ensuring the professional preservation of all artefacts and documents related to Mongolian themes. This space will not only serve as a storage facility for valuable collections but will also become a dynamic center for research and education.
The repository will be complemented by an extensive library, offering publications and periodicals focused on Mongolian culture, history, and art. This will expand opportunities for researchers, students, and the general public who wish to gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating region of the world.
